The School’s 15 BBA and 18 MBA graduating students who took the SAP Business Integration exam for the SAP certification program all passed.
MBA: a 100% pass rate
Since 2005, when the SAP certification program was opened to them, graduating students in the information technology management track of the MBA program have all passed the SAP certification exam. “A 100% pass rate in three years out of three is itself exceptional,” emphasized Pierre-Majorique Léger, Associate Professor, Department of Information Technologies, who is responsible for the SAP Alliance at HEC Montréal.
BBA: Outstanding performance by graduating students
Graduating BBA students in the information technology specialization turned in perfect pass rates for the second time. Over the past three years, graduating students in this program have done a great job, with pass rates of 100% in 2004, 89% in 2005 and 94% in 2006.
As Professor Léger notes, “Their performance on this exam is proof of the top-quality training BBA students in the IT specialization and MBA students in the IT management track receive, especially with regard to business analysis, and the advanced technological environment at HEC Montréal.”
SAP certification: a head start on the labour market
SAP is one of the leading providers of e-business software solutions, widely used in large companies. BBA and MBA graduates from HEC Montréal who obtain SAP certification have a head start on the labour market.
The certification program helps students work with SAP R/3, a software package in the mySAP Business SuiteTM, used worldwide by many universities and business schools belonging to the SAP Alliance. Commonly known as ERP,* the integrated package is a complex system used to manage business processes (accounting, finance, human resources, production, sales, purchasing and inventory, data analysis, etc.).
