HEC Montréal in the Top 10 of the BusinessWeek's 2006 International Ranking

October 13, 2006

HEC Montréal has repeated its exploit from 2004 and maintained its top 10 standing in BusinessWeek’s ranking of international MBA-granting schools. The US magazine published its 2006 list of the 30 best American business schools and top 10 non-US schools, on October 12. HEC Montréal is once again the first and only business school in Quebec ever to achieve this prestigious ranking.

The BusinessWeek ranking is based mainly on the opinions of full-time students at participating universities and recruiters.

For Jean Talbot, MBA Program Director, “This has been an excellent week for our MBA. Just a few days ago it also made The Economist’s list. All the distinctions it has earned over the past few years are a tribute to our program’s calibre and relevance. Our constant focus on innovation and the efforts our professors make to respond to this concern let us offer a program that truly meets students’ and employers’ needs.”

This comes as prestigious and well-deserved recognition.

The top 10 non-US schools in 2006, as ranked by BusinessWeek

  1. Queen's School of Business (Canada)
  2. Ivey School of Business (Canada)
  3. Rotman School of Management (Canada)
  4. IMD (Switzerland)
  5. London Business School (UK)
  6. INSEAD (France)
  7. ESADE (Spain)
  8. IESE (Spain)
  9. Schulich School of Business (Canada)
  10. HEC Montréal (Canada)

The HEC Montréal MBA program, offered both in French and English, currently caters to 175 full-time students – 51% of them from abroad – and 275 part-time students. The full-time program lasts 12 months. HEC Montréal is the only North American business school to boast the three prestigious international accreditations AACSB International (United States), AMBA (United Kingdom) and EQUIS (Europe).
