Nine teams made up completely or partially of HEC Montréal students or graduates walked off with one or more prizes at the awards ceremony for the 2005 Centre d'entrepreneurship HEC-Poly-U de M Contest, on November 24, at HEC Montréal.
The contest, held in association with a number of public- and private-sector organizations, is intended to encourage students or young graduates from the three institutions to carry out business plans, and acts as a real springboard for their companies. This year, the Centre and its partners awarded $75,000 to 14 businesses.
Since the first edition of the contest was held in 1997, 46 winning firms have included HEC Montréal students. These teams have come away with prizes worth $237,000.
