HEC Montréal and HSBC Bank Canada have signed an agreement to create a $250,000 HSBC scholarship fund for HEC Montréal students.
The HSBC Scholarship Fund will offer financial support for Bachelor's in Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Science in Administration (MSc) students specializing in international management or wishing to take part in the School’s international exchange program, Passport to the World. BBA scholarships are of $2500 and MSc scholarships are of $5000.
"HSBC is pleased to announce the creation of the HSBC Scholarship Fund at HEC Montréal. HSBC believes it is important to support a Quebec institution that aims for excellence in training tomorrow’s managers, especially in international management,” noted Jon Hountalas, Senior Vice-President, Quebec and Atlantic Regions, HSBC Bank Canada.
"We are very pleased to have HSBC Bank Canada as a new donor and to be able to offer our students new scholarships. The initiative is all the more valuable in that our students who have chosen the International Management specialization at the BBA level must take part in the Passport to the World exchange program. HSBC’s support will help them develop the skills they need for an international career and will provide them with real financial assistance," noted Jean-Marie Toulouse, Director of HEC Montréal.
The Passport to the World exchange program gives some 200 students the opportunity to study abroad for one term at one of the top 65 business schools in some 25 countries in North and South America, Asia and Europe.
